Cardiacs Live Session for Marc Riley's Brain Surgery - BBC6
23.06.08:
...STINKS OF EYES IN HERE"
Cardiacs Live Session for Marc Riley's Brain Surgery, BBC6, 23.06.08
Teacups were set to rattling in their saucers all over the world Monday
evening June 23rd 2008, as the mighty CARDIACS visited Marc Riley for a
special live radio session. Present in the studio were Tim, Jim, Kavus, and
Bob, augmented in striking fashion by Melanie Woods and Cathy Harabaras.
They performed three songs (Silvery, Jibber and Twitch, and Gen) and at
last, revealed their ambitious release schedule for the coming months.
At this juncture it appears that we will have a NEW SINGLE from them
in August, the DVD release of the 1990 concert film "All That
Glitters Is A Mare's Nest" in September, A NEW ALBUM entitled "LSD"
in October, and YET ANOTHER SINGLE in November. As well as another
Marc Riley session that month (Nov. 13th or 14th), and the big tour. There
was mention of a further album after that (!) but I think we might safely
put speculation about that on the "back burner".
There was also talk of the threatened release of the Garage Rehearsals DVD,
which could happen at any time, subject to the whim of the ALPHABET BUSINESS
CONCERN, "..if we don't get our act together" (Tim Smith).
Judging from the number of slip-ups and outbursts of foul language that
peppered this live broadcast, I think we can expect that DVD sooner rather
than later.
It were a bit rough, and BLOODY BRILL !
